CopyRev
Simple tool to copy an existing file to a new version
Background
Every month or week you need to copy the files to a new verion.
This simple tool installs into the context menu (right click).
Right click the file to copy and choose
CopyRev and you have a new version to edit ..
CopyRev.exe
- Right-Click the file to edit - we use
File_202201.txt
as an example - and choose CopyRev from the context menu
- Done. (a new file - a copy
File_202202.txt
is now ready..)
If no revision is identfied in filename a dialog show..
Recognized revision markings
File_YYMMDD.ext
= File_211224.ext
filename ends with a date in YYMMDD format.
This will copy the file to end with the current date
File_YYYYMM.ext
= File_202112.ext
filename ends with a date in YYYYMM format.
This will copy the file to end with the current date
File_revA.ext
filename ends with RevA marking
This will copy the file to end with RevB mark
File_ver1.ext
filename ends with Ver1 marking
This will copy the file to end with Ver2 mark
Both _(underscore) and space is recognized as the last delimiter
Download / Install
- get CopyRev
CopyRev.zip
- Extract the CopyRev.exe (1 file) place it in the same folder ..
- First start CopyRev.exe tries install into the Context-Menu(right-click) for folders
